The people shaping the atmosphere of the marathon
At CZM, music and social connection shape the entire experience.
The DJs shape the emotional flow of the marathon.
And together with the participants, the artists help create the unique atmosphere on the dance floor itself.
And because there are no workshops or shows, the artists can simply relax and fully be part of the event.
They are not rushing between classes, preparing performances, or managing tight schedules.
They arrive as participants too β dancing, connecting, sharing meals, joining activities, and spending real time with the community.
That changes the feeling of the whole event.
At a marathon, DJs shape everything: The energy of the room. The emotional flow of the night. The moments where the floor explodes. And the moments where everyone suddenly melts into the music together.
At CZM, this becomes even more important because we dance in many different settings β beach parties under the sun, sunset sessions by the sea, deep late-night dancing, surprise venues, and afterparties in the 15th dimension. Different moments require different energies and DJs who understand not only music, but atmosphere.
And honestly, we feel this yearβs lineup is one of the strongest and most carefully selected Zouk Marathons ever had.
We work with DJs we deeply trust β people who know how to read a room, adapt to the moment, and create atmosphere, not just play music.
Some of our DJs have been with us since the very beginning and already feel like part of the CZM family. Others are newer names we deeply trust and strongly believe in.
We intentionally invite DJs with different musical styles and energies β from internationally established names with decades of experience to newer rising talents we feel deserve much more recognition in the scene.
At the same time, all of them share something important: they know how to read a room, adapt to the moment, and support the overall flow of the marathon experience.
Some of our artists are also official DJs and appear in both roles during the event β bringing yet another unique flavor and energy onto the dance floor.
At CZM, we want the music journey to feel coherent from beginning to end. That is why we work with one trusted Head DJ who oversees the overall musical direction of the event and helps coordinate the entire DJ team.
For CZM 2026, this role once again goes to Daniel aka DJ HushZ.
Our organizer Guido has known and worked together with Daniel since his early DJ days more than a decade ago, and over the years developed enormous trust in both his musical instinct and organizational abilities.
As Head DJ, Daniel is responsible for shaping the overall musical experience of the marathon β from DJ scheduling and atmosphere flow to technical setup, sound levels, and coordination between all DJs.
But beyond professionalism, what matters most to us is how much he genuinely cares.
Daniel treats CZM as if it were his own event and puts an incredible amount of heart and attention into every detail of the experience.
Very few people are trusted with this level of responsibility.
Daniel is one of them.
At many events, artists are under constant pressure. They teach workshops, perform shows, judge competitions, manage schedules, rush between airports and barely have time to breathe.
Because of that, totally understandably, many events create separation in order to protect the artistsβ energy. VIP rooms. Artist areas. Private spaces where artists can hide, rest, or simply escape the pressure for a moment.
At CZM, things work differently.
There are no workshops.
No shows.
No stage pressure.
No VIP rooms.
No hidden artist areas.
Artists stay together with everyone else.
They eat at the same tables, relax in the same spaces, join the same beach sessions, and spend their nights on the same dance floor as the participants.
And because the pressure disappears, something changes naturally.
The artists become relaxed.
More open.
More present.
They dance because they genuinely want to dance.
They stay longer on the floor.
They connect more naturally with people.
And instead of feeling distant or untouchable, they simply become part of the whole experience and the family.
That atmosphere changes everything.
Some artists dance until sunrise in the 15th dimension.
Some spend hours talking with participants at the beach after the party.
Others suddenly become the center of a crazy dance circle during a beach party or afterparty.
A lot of the best moments happen naturally and unexpectedly.
And that is exactly what we love about it.
